Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are celebrating their 10th year anniversary. The couple tied the knot on Aug. 16, 2008, and their relationship is going strong as ever.
The couple also surpassed a string of divorce rumors. Just in June, New Idea alleged that Portia de Rossi was humiliated with the alleged $400 million divorce case with wife, Ellen DeGeneres.
It was reported that many sources disclosed that the couple fought and it ended with Ellen taking off her wedding ring and leaving Portia in their home in L.A. Supposedly, the pair tried to hide their separation from family and friends.
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are aware of these rumors and the latter chose to comment on them to address and stop the allegations. In her statement, she first acknowledges that it might sound strange but those divorce speculations actually encourage her.
Via Us Weekly, Portia related that the divorce rumors are somehow encouraging for her because it made them feel accepted. “I thought, ‘Wow, this is great that I’m pregnant, not pregnant, divorced, not divorced, whatever,” she said. “That means there is an acceptance for this.”
Apparently, the pair just laughed off the rumors since they are very much in love with one another. In fact, as they celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary, they want everyone to know how beautiful and meaningful their wedding was, thus to celebrate the occasion, they shared footage of that happy moment that took place exactly a decade ago.
Via her Instagram account, Ellen DeGeneres uploaded a short clip that shows scenes from the wedding and a photo montage of the special day. The video was also previously shown on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
Finally, Portia de Rossi also updated her Instagram with a black and white image of their wedding while being officiated by author and philosopher Wayne Dyer. She captioned it with a short message that reads, "We wanted to share Wayne Dyer's poignant and special words with you to remind us all how far we've come—that we are living in a country that supports #marriageequality #waynedyer.
