The release date for “Dragon Ball Heroes” episode 6 was recently confirmed. Is this going to be the grand finale of the promotional miniseries for the same name video game?

Toei Animation and Bandai recently announced that “Dragon Ball Heroes” episode 6 will be released on Saturday, Dec. 22. If that schedule sounds familiar, that’s because it coincides with the opening day of this year’s Jump Festa.

Though the official promo image contains Japanese text. But with help from translator Todd Blankenship, it is confirmed that “Dragon Ball Heroes” episode 6 will be released during the big event. Just like the previous conventions, Jump Festa 2019 will also take place in Japan. Still, it is something that fans around the world are anticipating. Anime and manga producers are known for announcing their biggest news at this two-day event.

One of the main stage panels in Jump Festa 2019 is dedicated for the “Dragon Ball Super” franchise. So it is actually not much of a surprise that “Dragon Ball Heroes” episode 6 will be released here. Since this miniseries is regarded as a promo anime show, Toei Animation strategically launches new episodes during big events before streaming it on official websites.

It is still unclear whether the producers will continue the series beyond the Prison Planet arc. But, right now, the promo anime series is not expected to have a lot of episodes so there is a chance that “Dragon Ball Heroes” episode 6 could be the finale. The previously reported synopsis and title also suggest the same possibility.

“Dragon Ball Heroes” episode 6’s is where the Ultra Instinct form is expected to appear. “After an endless fierce battle, Ultra Instinct finally goes into operation. Amidst the crumbling Prison Planet, a final battle begins with everything on the line,” the synopsis reads.

Before Ultra Instinct is activated in “Dragon Ball Heroes” episode 6, other protagonists have already been challenged by the Prison Planet arc’s baddie, Kanba. Since Kanba has been defeated, the upcoming installment picks up from Xeno Vegito’s continuing fight with another villain, Fu.
