“Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 is possibly one of the most anticipated series, despite not having any official confirmation about its production yet. The first season focused on introducing its very complicated web of romance stories centered on a guy named Natsuo.

Once “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 airs, fans will be highly interested to learn that the anime will most likely feature a time skip to when Natsuo is already married. They should be prepared, though, that the narrative will sound and feel so much like the American sitcom “How I Met Your Mother.”

‘Domestic Girlfriend’ season 2 spoilers: Natsuo is married to a mystery woman

Anime-only fans may not know this but the first season with 12 episodes, technically, covered 72 chapters of the manga series. That provides a clear hint at how the story will pick up in the “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 premiere.

The first episode will most likely show Natsuo receiving a phone call to discuss his next writing project. But “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2’s premiere will become more exciting instantly when it is revealed that the scene is happening in a distant future when Natsuo is already married. His publisher even wants his next project to be about how he met his “wife.”

Unfortunately, as with the manga, “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 episode 1 will unlikely reveal Natsuo’s wife. In the source material, Natsuo was adamant to write about how he met his wife. He ended the phone call with the publisher by saying he would consult his wife first. Natsuo and his wife also have a child at this point.

‘Domestic Girlfriend’ season 2 release date, plot: Did Natsuo marry Rui or Hina?

The entire premise of the series revolves around a bizarre love triangle involving Natsuo and his step-sisters Hina and Rui. Coincidentally, Hina is his teacher and first love while Rui was the first woman he ever slept with. In the first 12 episodes, the series also showed that it could touch on subjects beyond romance and love triangle. The problem now is “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 has not been announced yet.

On the bright side, there is a better chance for the anime series to continue. The manga counterpart is still active and has a total of 255 chapters as of this writing. That means there are still plenty of stories left to be adapted for TV giving fans more hope that “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 could be happening, with some even speculating on a 2020 premiere.
