“Monster Musume” season 2 is reportedly in the works after going on hiatus for more than three years. The last episode of the first season aired in Sept. 2015, so fans are hoping that the next installment is coming already.
In addition, as mentioned on TV Season Spoilers, the manga’s original video animation (OVA) was released in 2017, and there has been no follow up since then. The outlet stated that the “Monster Musume” season 2 was delayed because Okayado, the author of the original manga series where the anime was based on had to deal with his mental health issues.
His inability to work on his manga series also affected the production of “Monster Musume” season 2 as the materials to make the series is not available. The first season was based on the stories from the “Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou” manga chapters 1-16 an 18-25 while the two OVA editions covered the volume numbers 17 to 26.
Since Okayado is back at work, it was said that enough chapters are now available to create “Monster Musume” season 2. For a bit of spoiler, it was shared that the upcoming episodes will show the monster girls fighting against each other as all of them wants to marry Kimihito Kurusu. It will surely be a messy season since the girls are expected to go all out to win.
Although it was mentioned that “Monster Musume” season 2 is already in production, Lerche Studio has yet to make an official announcement about the series’ renewal. It was also said that the expected premiere date is within this year and this too must be confirmed by the producers first.
“Monster Musume” season 2 is also known as “Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls.” it is originally a manga series that was published by Tokuma Shoten in Japan in 2012. It was later released in the U.S. by Seven Seas Entertainment and was made to an anime series in 2015. The first season had 12 episodes, so the second is also expected to feature the same number of episodes.
