Whale Accumulation of Altcoins in January 2025
January 2025 has been a month of significant purchases of various altcoins by crypto whales, and this has signaled potential bullish trends in the market. The accumulation of such altcoins indicates which altcoins will perform well in the near term.
Hyperliquid (HYPE)
HYPE is another favorite of whales, with its price increasing by nearly 600% in the last 90 days. Following the recent price drop, the whales used the opportunity to buy large amounts, for example, on January 21, one whale purchased 151,277 tokens while another invested $2.76 million.
Cardano (ADA)
Whales have also shown interest in Cardano (ADA), adding around 20 million ADA to their holdings in just a few days. This increased accumulation has raised their total from 3.28 billion to 3.30 billion tokens, viewed as a positive sign for future price increases.
XRP
XRP is a favorite of the whales as 380 million worth about $912 million XRP tokens are acquired by the big holders within the last week. The three-month buying spree, in general, has brought it up 350% from previous levels.
Toncoin (TON)
Toncoin (TON), associated with Telegram, witnessed the rise of whales. This was seen due to large holders raising their netflows by 220% in early January. With such strong demand in buying interest, there's a high probability that rallies for the prices can be seen soon.
Shiba Inu (SHIB)
The whales also seem to invest more in Shiba Inu (SHIB) so they could enjoy a market movement.
Avalanche (AVAX)
By the end of January, significant whale accumulation happened in Avalanche (AVAX) and its netflows among large holders increased by 151% signaling growing confidence in how it's going to perform in the future.
Lido DAO (LDO) and Dogecoin (DOGE)
Two tokens, Lido DAO (LDO) and Dogecoin (DOGE) attracted whales' attention and reflected a high interest in already established tokens amidst market conditions.
