Information technology company Cognizant has recently been named the title sponsor of the PGA TOUR's South Florida event, formerly the Honda Classic. The tournament will now be referred to as the Cognizant Classic.
The Cognizant Classic is set to return to the PGA National Resort's Champion Course from February 26 to March 3, as per Golf Business News. This event, which forms part of the FedExCup regular season, will showcase Cognizant's commitment to excellence in sports and entertainment. The sponsorship agreement covers a significant period from 2024 to 2030, as per Yahoo.
PGA TOUR Commissioner Expresses Gratitude
Jay Monahan, PGA TOUR Commissioner, expressed gratitude towards Cognizant, acknowledging their commitment to the South Florida event until 2030. Monahan emphasized that the Cognizant Classic will continue to be a premier sports and entertainment event in the Palm Beaches while also maintaining its role as a pioneer in charitable endeavors within the community.
The Nicklaus Children's Health Care Foundation will continue to be the primary beneficiary of the tournament, thanks to the support of Jack and Barbara Nicklaus. The foundation focuses on advancing and enhancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of childhood diseases and disorders. Additionally, it supports other not-for-profit programs and projects to improve pediatric healthcare and related services.
