After the heart-stopping crossover this week, the audience is likely going to witness a new conflict brewing. Teasers for “Chicago Fire” season 7 episode 3 hints at a disagreement between Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) and a newcomer.
That new face who will get on Chief Boden’s nerves is no less than Assistant Deputy Commissioner Gorsch (Steven Boyer). According to the “Chicago Fire” season 7 episode 3 synopsis, Chief Boden will become even more “skeptical” of what Gorsch plans are for the men and women serving under Chicago Firehouse 51.
As soon as Gorsch was introduced, viewers were given the impression that he is up to no good. He seemed to be attacking how the Firehouse 51 operates. Before coming to the events in “Chicago Fire” season 7 episode 3, it was revealed that Chief Boden previously filed a complaint against Gorsch, so they assumed that new character was targeting him.
At one point, Gorsch called out Severide’s (Taylor Kinney) method and rebuked him for ignoring his training. The unwanted visitor then added that Severide has been on Commissioner Grissom’s (Gary Cole) radar for some time now, implying that he does not really like him. With Gorsch confirmed to have more scenes in “Chicago Fire” season 7 episode 3, other members of Firehouse 51 could be next.
After establishing that there is bad blood between Gorsch and Chief Boden, it was revealed that the Commissioner sent Gorsch to keep an eye on Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo). This new information is likely what will trigger Chief Boden’s skepticism in “Chicago Fire” season 7 episode 3.
Meanwhile, scene photos shared on YouTube show that Chief Boden and Gorsch will have a one-on-one conversation outside work. Will this be the time when a confrontation explodes or is it just going to be a calm chat between the characters in “Chicago Fire” season 7 episode 3?
