A video has emerged in the social media, which shows that amid roars and noises, as the European leaders greet each other with handshakes and kisses, an increasingly lonely British Prime Minister Theresa May looking to talk to or embrace somebody and finally gives up and instead, turning to fidget with paperwork at her table. In the background, European leaders were seen smiling with each other and talking. Prime Minister May was also not invited to the summit dinner, where other leaders would be present.
The UK government and the Prime Minister office have tried to downplay the snub insisting that the Prime Minister had not sought to be present at the dinner. Instead, they said that the meeting of 27 members without Britain is in line with the reality since the UK is leaving the bloc. Nevertheless, this footage is the stark image of how the upcoming negotiation is going to be when the UK will be all alone in trying to get the best deal possible against 27 members of the bloc.
