This month marks the 10th anniversary of the franchise and players of “Borderlands 3” should expect special events and rewards in five weeks. Opening the celebrations is the Bonus Boss Loot week, or simply Boss Week. However, some video game critics do not seem impressed with what it is offering.

‘Borderlands 3’ Boss Week offers more chances to unique Legendary rewards
The month-long celebrations open as soon as October began. “Borderlands 3” players now have more reasons to expose themselves in Boss fights for the entire first week of the month. Gearbox announced that the game is programmed this week to be more generous in rewarding players with Legendary items according to the Boss enemy they choose to fight.
Every Boss fight in “Borderlands 3” will reward players with a designated Legendary loot. Brainstormer drops in KillaVolt fight, Nagata when up against Gigamind, Ten Gallon is the reward for facing GenIVIV, and so on. However, it should be noted that developers are not promising a guaranteed Legendary loot prize in every match. Gearbox only says there is an “increased chance” in acquiring these items within the Boss Week.
Several reviews of the special event appear to be underwhelmed. Forbes comments that most items offered during the Bonus Boss Loot are not even the best in the roster of Legendary items in “Borderlands 3.” Meanwhile, Kotaku suggests that the Boss Week is not a worthy replacement for the players’ usual farming activities because several enemies appeared to have beefed up skills making the special event not as rewarding as expected.
“Borderlands 3” players still have several days to try out Boss Week and see if Gearbox needs to employ some tweaks in the upcoming special events. The Bonus Boss Loot will be live until Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 8:59 a.m. PDT.
‘Borderlands 3’ special events laid out for entire October
The general concept of the 10th-anniversary celebrations is to give “Borderlands 3” players more chances of acquiring Legendary items. But the events in every week will have unique themes. After the Boss Week, the Rare Spawn Hunt begins on Oct. 8-14 to be followed by the Show Me the Eridium event on Oct- 15-21.
The Mayhem on Twitch event takes place on Oct. 22-28, and the celebrations will conclude with the Halloween-themed quest Spooky Surprise going live on Oct. 29 through Nov. 4. “Borderlands 3” is now available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
