The anime adaptation of Yuki Tabata’s “Black Clover” series is one of the shows affected by broadcast changes due to the coronavirus pandemic. Based on some online sources, fans might have to endure the entire month of May without seeing “Black Clover” episode 133.
‘Black Clover’ episode 133 release date
Japan TV networks announced drastic changes in its broadcast schedules around the second half of April as the country was placed under a state of emergency. The policy, supposedly ending last week, was decided by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to be extended until the end of May. This might have also affected the plans for TV shows’ return, including the release date of “Black Clover” episode 133.
Studio Pierrot, the company that produces the anime adaptation, has yet to provide a specific release date for “Black Clover” episode 133. But several clues have come up over the previous weeks suggesting that the hiatus could be extended until the middle of June.
Just FYI, the same magazine that has blank listing for Boruto EPs confirms re-runs for Black Clover (up to EP #6 on 6/9) for the same time period. Both anime are produced by Studio Pierrot.

The footnote for Black Clover is actually written differently to indicate planned re-runs
Known anime news source OrganicDinosaur shared that one magazine has confirmed “Black Clover” reruns will be on the air June 9. Another anime insider, Spytrue, doubled down on that information and added the producers’ note that the hiatus “may continue for a longer period.”
It appears that the broadcast schedule changes depends on the COVID-19 situation in Japan as well. If the nationwide state of emergency would be lifted by the end of May as planned, there is a good chance for the “Black Clover” hiatus to not be extended further. In that case, “Black Clover” episode 133 could be released on Tuesday, June 16.
Fans should note, however, that everything is still very tentative as to how the COVID-19 situation would continue is very uncertain as well. June 16 is the earliest possible premiere for “Black Clover” episode 133 but, depending on the overall situation, it could happen at a later date as well.
‘Black Clover’ episode 133 spoilers, recap
