“Black Clover” chapter 178 is going to be a promising installment if the speculations are proven correct. Days before the next chapter is released, many believe that Noelle will be the one to receive the magic of the Spirit of Water.
The latest chapter focused on Noelle’s continuing battle with the Elf. For the most part of the chapter, it was implied that Noelle demonstrated a lot of power that she did not show before. And this was one of the clues picked up by reports that “Black Clover” chapter 178 could lead to the unveiling of a new spirit magic.
It is important to note, though, that chapter 176 also established that Noelle’s much-improved fighting abilities can be attributed to all the training she received in the Black Bull squad. OtakuKart noted that a new spirit magic was not mentioned or shown before. But this could be the highlight in “Black Clover” chapter 178 to further explain how Noelle became this powerful.
Before “Black Clover” chapter 178, there have been only two Spirit Magics introduced in the series. There is Sylph — the spirit of wind — who works with Yuno. And there is the spirit of fire, known as Salamander, which makes Fana and Fuegoleon Vermillion more powerful.
On the other hand, other reports speculate that chapter 177 covered the last bits of Noelle’s successful battle. With that, “Black Clover” chapter 178 is considered to possibly be focused on either Yami or Asta in a new battle.
Geek Sniper suggests that the current arc will be revealing the protagonists' new or improved spells and powers. The same report speculates that if “Black Clover” chapter 178 will focus on Yami, the installment will introduce one of the most powerful enemies revealed in the series.
Fans will still have to wait a few more days to know exactly what happens next. “Black Clover” chapter 178 is slated to be released on Oct. 19, according to reports.
