Bitcoin Outflows From Binance Hit Three-Year High as Whales Accumulate

Bitcoin reserves on Binance are falling sharply as large holders move significant amounts of BTC off the world’s leading crypto exchange, signaling growing accumulation despite continued price volatility.

According to data shared by a CryptoQuant analyst, nearly 14,300 BTC were withdrawn from Binance in a single day, representing the exchange’s largest daily net Bitcoin outflow in three years. The figure also exceeded the roughly 13,800 BTC reportedly withdrawn during the entire previous week.

The surge in Binance Bitcoin outflows suggests that major holders, commonly known as whales, may be transferring their assets into private wallets or other forms of long-term storage. Large exchange withdrawals are often watched closely by crypto traders because they can reduce the amount of Bitcoin immediately available for sale.

The accumulation trend has also been visible on a weekly basis. Binance recorded approximately 23,100 BTC in net outflows last week, valued at around $1.4 billion. That marked the strongest weekly Bitcoin withdrawal from the exchange since June 2023.

Binance’s Bitcoin reserves have consequently declined substantially since September 20. The exchange held about 704,800 BTC at that point, but reserves had dropped to approximately 663,100 BTC by October 5.

That represents a decline of more than 40,000 BTC in roughly two weeks. Based on the reported valuation, the withdrawn Bitcoin was worth about $3.3 billion.

Binance still maintains the largest Bitcoin reserves among cryptocurrency exchanges, but the rapid decline is attracting attention as investors look for signs of the market’s next major move.

Sustained withdrawals can be interpreted as a bullish signal when investors move Bitcoin away from exchanges with the intention of holding rather than selling. However, exchange flows alone do not guarantee future price gains, particularly in a volatile crypto market.

With Binance Bitcoin outflows now at their strongest levels in three years, whale accumulation and declining exchange reserves could become important indicators for traders assessing whether bullish momentum is strengthening.
