Bitcoin ATM network Coinsource’s CEO and CMO among 2017 Entrepreneur of the Year Award finalists
In a first, a Bitcoin CEO has been selected as a finalist for the Southwest 2017 Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Founded and produced by EY, the Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards recognize entrepreneurs who are excelling in areas such as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. EY announced the finalists for the Southwest region in May.
Coinsource CEO Sheffield Clark and the company’s CMO Bobby Sharp are among the 45 other star-studded finalists, which includes CEO of 7-Eleven Joseph DePinto, CEO of Dave & Buster’s Stephen King, and CEO of RISE Nicholas Kennedy. Each business leader was nominated by third parties and selected by a panel of independent judges.
“It is an honor to be considered alongside such an elite group of talented, driven and selfless individuals. We are extremely excited to be recognized in traditional business circles and it's testament to the growth and adoption in the bitcoin space”, CEO of Coinsource Sheffield Clark said.
After a breakout year in 2016, Coinsource became the world’s largest bitcoin ATM network, deploying machines to key population centers across America at a rate of 1.4 per week. Now with a roster of 108 ATMs across eight states, up from 70 at the beginning of this year, Coinsource provides quick and convenient access to the world’s fastest growing alternative asset, directly from the kiosk.
“We are very proud of what we’ve built here at Coinsource; one of our main goals was to help those a little less fortunate by providing the unbanked and underbanked with cash to bitcoin, and bitcoin to cash conversion. There’s some immense competition on the EY list but we are in it to win it,” Clark said.
CMO Bobby Sharp, who has a wealth of experience in the media, dining and tech industries, is also a co-founder of Coinsource.
The winner will be announced at a special gala on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas. Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur Of The Year national program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the Entrepreneur Of The Year Overall National Award winner, will be announced at the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Awards gala in Palm Springs, California on November 18, 2017. The Entrepreneur Of The Year Overall Award winner then moves on to compete for the World Entrepreneur Of The Year Award in Monaco in June 2018.
