After the conclusion of “Avengers: Infinity War,” fans have been left devastated as Thanos (Josh Brolin) successfully wiped half the universe with a single snap of his fingers. Now, “Avengers 4” will set the remaining heroes on a road that will correct the catastrophic event caused by the Mad Titan.
But since “Avengers 4” will not be out until April 2019, fans are left speculating how the Russo brothers are going to handle the plot moving forward. One of the most popular predictions going around is the use of time travel through the Quantum Realm via Ant-Man’s ability, Express reported.
When “Ant-Man and The Wasp” director Peyton Reed was asked whether or not the size-manipulating hero will travel back in time to escape the Quantum Realm in “Avengers 4,” he didn’t exactly dispute the possibility. So it’s entirely possible that Ant-Man is going to help Captain America and the rest of the Avengers time travel in order to get the Infinity Stones before Thanos gets hold of it.
However, this will be a major divergence from the film’s original source. In the comics, the heroes fought Thanos directly and tried to get the gauntlet out of his hands. “Avengers 4” can follow this arc, although it’s going to be predictable, especially for hardcore Marvel fans who have read the comics.
What’s more, the Russo brothers aren’t fond of completely copying the plot from the original source, as observed in the previous installment. Instead, “Avengers 4” will likely have a different storyline with its own twist and conclusion.
Another arc that the Russo brothers might take is rescuing the heroes who were “killed” during Thanos’ snap. The film has already established that the Soul Stone has a special place among the Infinity Gems and the heroes who have been turned to dust are likely trapped inside it. And given that Spiderman, Black Panther, and Doctor Strange are slated for new movies in the future, it’s highly probable that they’re residing in the Soul Stone and are trying to find a way to escape.
As for the title of “Avengers 4,” Marvel Studios has yet to announced it, although the Russo brothers tweeted a clue as to what the next installment will be called. The tweet – now deleted – featured an image saying “Aftermath of Obliteration of Eternity.”
The Russo brothers previously said that the closest fans have guessed to the tile of “Avengers 4” is “Avengers: Forever.” Now, seeing that there is “Eternity” in the deleted tweet, it’s possible that the next installment will be called “Avengers: Eternity.” Of course, that is still speculation at this point and fans will have to wait for official confirmation from Marvel of what the next film is going to be called.
