Fans are still fairly clueless how and who are the heroes that will be revived in “Avengers 4.” However, a recent development confirmed that two characters from the “Thor” franchise were not wiped out when Thanos (Josh Brolin) snapped his fingers and purged half of the entire universe. Does this mean they have an important role in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie?

Marvel writer Brandon T. Snider announced the release of “The Cosmic Quest Volume Two: Aftermath” on Tuesday. And the blurb on that back cover implied that Dr. Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgård) and Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) were part of the other half that survived the wrath of Thanos. While the comic book and movies are different series, both happen in the same timeline and setting, which means these characters are alive as of the present time in “Avengers 4.”
In previous reports, it was discussed that the Quantum Realm might be holding the key to defeating Thanos and going back in time where half the universe was still alive. This is, at least, the hope of many fans on how “Avengers 4” would go down.
It is impossible that “The Cosmic Quest Volume Two: Aftermath” will spoil anything about “Avengers 4,” ComicBook argued. But it seemed convenient that the MCU character, Dr. Selvig, who probably knows all about the quantum mechanics is still alive. Darcy, on the other hand, has been a funny scientist lending him and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) a hand in a couple of “Thor” movies so no one should underestimate her knowledge about it as well.
The recently released comic book’s description also implied that the two characters have their own quest to embark on following after Thanos snapped. It appears that finding everything they can about the phenomenon and understanding the Infinity Stones well are the main highlights of the comic book. But it is still not indicative whether Dr. Selvig and Darcy will actually return in the “Avengers 4” film slated to premiere on May 3, 2019.
