Like many Hollywood couples, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds on-screen chemistry for the movie “Green Lantern” turned into a real-life love story. Now that they have a beautiful family and have been happily married since 2012, fans might be wondering if they will ever do a movie together again.
Lively and Reynolds each has a couple of upcoming films in 2019. Lively is paired with “Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald” star Jude Law for the action thriller “The Rhythm Section” to be released in November. The “Gossip Girl” alum has also been booked to play the role of Cecilia Fitzpatrick in the movie adaptation of the Liane Moriarty novel “The Husband’s Secret.”
Meanwhile, Reynolds voiced Detective Pikachu and filmed for the character’s facial motion capture in the live-action due this summer “Pokémon: Detective Pikachu.” Lively’s husband has also produced and will star in the Michael Bay-directed action film “Six Underground” slated to premiere in 2019 as well.
Unfortunately, nothing on the surface yet is telling fans that Lively and Reynolds are starring in the same flick in the near future. But people can support them in their confirmed, upcoming projects this year.
The duo first worked together for “Green Lantern” that came out in 2010. That meant that during production, Lively was still dating Penn Badgley and Reynolds was still married to Scarlett Johansson at the time. But it appears that there was no overlap between Lively and Reynolds love story and their respective previous relationships.
Reynolds told Entertainment Weekly‘s SiriusXM (via PEOPLE) that he and Lively met “about a year after ‘Green Lantern’ had come and gone.” The actor said they were both single at the time when they went to a double date where they had different partners. “it was like the most awkward date for the respective parties because we were just like fireworks coming across … We were buddies for a long time, which I think is the best way to have a relationship, to start as friends,” the “Deadpool” star revealed.
