“Archer” season 10’s release date has been confirmed. The adult-themed comedy animation is set to debut in April on FX.
The airdate for “Archer” season 10’s was revealed during the 2019 Television Critics Association press tour and it was also tweeted by Variety’s senior editor Danielle Turchiano. On Feb. 5, she simply announced via on Twitter, “#Archer Season 10 will premiere in April.”
Title and Plot
“Archer” season 10 has been titled “Archer: 1999" which was first mentioned in the previous installment’s finale called “Danger Island.” The crew will be in space but despite the futuristic backdrop, it seems that the storyline will take place in the past – going back to 19 years ago to be exact. It will pick up from the time when Sterling Archer finds himself aboard a spaceship and lying in a cryogenic pod.
“I’m even more excited about this new season because we’re going backwards instead of forward. We’re going to outer space,” EP Matt Thompson said during the San Diego Comic-Con last year.
Episodes and Cast
In any case, “Archer” season 10 will feature a total of eight episodes and Casey Willis will stand as the series’ executive producer and he will share the executive title with Matt Thompson. According to Indiewire, the confirmed cast members include H. Jon Benjamin as Archer, Jessica Walter as Mallory, Chris Parnell as Cyril, Amber Nash as Pam, Mallory as Jessica Walter, the ship’s artificial intelligence and Lucky Yates.
Series Finale
Will “Archer” season 10 be the last? The executives of the show did not say when they are planning to end the series but they may still be getting more seasons after the tenth. “It’s leading somewhere, and I think everyone will be really excited to see where it goes,” Willis said.
