The Katrina story was initially confirmed as the next concept to be featured in “American Crime Story” season 3. It will mainly tackle the story of Dr. Anna Pou and her staff who were on duty at the New Orleans Memorial Medical Center when hurricane Katrina struck Florida and Louisiana in 2005.
But now, it was reported that “American Crime Story” season 3 will no longer focus on the deadly hurricane that is one of the worst to hit the U.S. According to Deadline, FX Networks CEO John Landgraf said that they have many ideas for the show and they are mulling over four concepts right now.
Landgraf explained that there is a chance that they will produce all of them but they do not know yet which one to air first. He added that Katrina may also still be in the cards but that was all that he knows about it.
“We have three or four ideas in active development but I couldn’t tell you which one is likely to be ready first,” he told the media during the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena that was held on Monday, Feb. 4.
The FX CEO further shared that there will be at least two more seasons after the “American Crime Story” season 3. It was previously reported that Monica Lewinsky story would be featured but this was scrapped as well and replaced by Katrina. Perhaps, this time, the network will work on it again since many people are interested in this controversial story.
Meanwhile, the reason for the delay of “American Crime Story” season 3 is now apparent. There are many interesting stories to share and due to the overwhelming ideas, the production team cannot decide which one to focus on thus most of the write-ups end up incomplete.
