Serialization and traceability solutions provider Adents, in collaboration with Microsoft, has developed a track & trace platform using blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

Adents NovaTrack offers end-to-end traceability and visibility throughout the entirety of the supply chain. It combines blockchain, AI, Internet of Things (IoT) and serialization functionalities to bring transparency throughout product distribution chains and life cycles.

Microsoft Blockchain framework uses the Azure Intelligent Cloud platform to provide real-time performance, high scalability, granular business-driven data privacy and security, and energy-efficient consensus. In its official release, Adents said that Microsoft Blockchain platform is secure by design, and offers the largest compliance portfolio in the industry.

The platform has a “Blockchain as a service” approach allowing each supply chain participant to either run blockchain nodes on premises or via the Cloud. It has embedded security features including consortium blockchain mechanisms such as identity management, PKI and encryption – ensuring only trusted participants are members of the blockchain.

Furthermore, NovaTrack employs AI via Microsoft Machine Learning and Business Intelligence Services, which allows it to collect and analyze data to transform massive amount of data into actionable business insight. It also includes communication standards compliance for various industries, including pharma and other particularly stringent sectors.
