Nearly 150 more people have reported to the police they have been duped by the allegedly fraudulent bitcoin exchange MyCoin, according to the South China Morning Post.
It's the latest addition in the ongoing MyCoin saga, a platform considered as a bitcoin exchange but may have never actually engaged in the digital currency.
SCMP said that one victim has reportedly lost $HK80,000 ($102,946 at press time), one of the highest individual totals so far.
Hong Kong police made five arrests last week in the said case, though they have been released on bail. The investigation continues searching for the individuals involved.
