Xhai Studios to adopt NEM blockchain technology for video games platform

Malaysia-based innovative mobile game developer and publisher Xhai Studios announced that it will adopt new and promising blockchain technology to be incorporated into its developing video games platform services.

Xhai Studios will be utilizing NEM blockchain technology platform and the move will help game developers to distribute their products on a new type of platform, which is more direct, effective and cost efficient. This will provide flexibility to both the developer and the gamer.

The NEM blockchain-powered platform of Xhai will enable developers to avoid middlemen payment processors, the release stated. This will be carried out by verifying identity and recording transactions with the help of the NEM blockchain technology.

“We already have a very strong traction with the use of the private chain (mijin) in many companies. The use of our public blockchain for this purpose comes at a good time where we are starting to showcase the application of our blockchain technology in the financial, logistics, IoTs, notarization, and now, the game industries,” Lon Wong, President, NEM.io Foundation Ltd, stated.

Selected Xhai’s mobile video games will integrate NEM’s crypto-currency, ‘XEM’. It will be used to purchase in-app tokens as well as to exchange collected game points into the XEM currency which incentivizes playing.

Apart from this, few Xhai’s mobile games will include a full-fledged “XEM Wallet,” which features QR functionalities. This built-in wallet allows gamers to transfer game points amongst peers to/from their other NEM wallet applications.

The mobile game developer chose NEM as its blockchain technology provider due to its flexibility and ease of integration.

“We have already completed several games to be put onto a platform that is now being fine-tuned to integrate with the blockchain application and we hope to be able to roll out our first games using this technology in the coming months,” Otto von Nostitz, President of Xhai Studios, noted.
