Wyre builds blockchain payment Bot for WeChat and Facebook

Blockchain startup Wyre, announced that it has built ‘Wyre Bot’, which is the first blockchain payments tool on WeChat and Facebook.

The Bot authenticates invoices with the help of a public blockchain for fraud prevention. Its features include generating payment invoice, raising customer support tickets via chat, among others.

The working mechanism of the Bot is that when the supplier provides the transaction details to the Wyre Bot, it generates an invoice in .pdf format and sends an email. Both the supplier requesting the invoice and person paying the invoice are cc’d on the email from Wyre. Finally the invoice will be hashed and stores on the blockchain. This avoids the need for the supplier to worry about whether or not the invoice is sent.

“We are also eagerly awaiting for new technical features such as RSK being deployed on blockchain protocols, and will use these new technologies to build useful new features for our customers,” the announcement stated.

The company said that it will see a lot more applications to the Bot in the future, based on demand that includes executing payments directly through the Bot, multi-invoicing feature in one request, usage in other platforms like WhatsApp, Slack, Line, Viber, among others.

The Wyre platform is built on blockchain technology and offers cross-border payment solutions for large scale enterprises and payment companies with the help of APIs and client dashboard. The platform recently acquired one of the popular China-bound payments solutions, Remitsy in a deal of undisclosed amount.
