Ubisoft Confirms 'Assassin's Creed Red' Release by Early 2025, Eyes on Fiscal Boost

'Assassin's Creed Red' poised for release, Ubisoft targets strong performance in FY2025.

Ubisoft did clarify some release windows recently, including the much-anticipated "Assassin's Creed Red," which is known to be coming sometime in fiscal year 2025, even though they promise a full rundown of their fiscal year 2025 calendar in May.

'Assassin’s Creed Red' Set to be Released Before April 2025

Though there have been reports that "Assassin's Creed Red" will be Ubisoft's major holiday 2024 product, the game may not be released until the end of March 2025. Additionally, Ubisoft has officially stated that "Star Wars Outlaws" will launch in 2024. Disney has previously hinted that the game may arrive in late 2024.

Fascinatingly, when Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot was questioned about how Ubisoft might be organizing its calendar in anticipation of the 2025 release of "GTA 6," he acknowledged that the game would likely be released in their fiscal year 2026 (that is, sometime after April 1, 2025). He said:

“What we can say about GTA VI, is what we've seen in the past is [when] there's a big release like GTA, there are more and more people coming back to the industry and that helps other games sell as well. So, we see it for sure, we look at it, and we are really organizing things around the launch of [GTA VI] which... we don't know exactly when it's going to happen, but we consider it will closer to our financial year 2026 than our financial year 2025. Generally, it's actually a positive for the market.”

Ubisoft's Q3 Earnings Show Promise Despite Challenges, Eyes Set on Strong Q4

Ubisoft has disclosed earnings for the third quarter of its fiscal year 2024, which runs from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, and things are looking up for the "Assassin's Creed" publisher after a few hard years.

With revenue of €606 million, Q3 was down slightly year on year, most likely due to the somewhat disappointing performance of "Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora," but Ubisoft is expecting a good Q4 due to Prince of "Persia: The Lost Crown and Skull and Bones," with Guillemot referring to the latter as a "AAAA" game.
