Ten European Blockchain Startups Join Nexuslab Pilot Programme

Swiss-based blockchain startup programme Nexuslab has announced the names of the ten international startups selected to join its pilot programme starting this month. The three-month programme will be conducted in a predominantly virtual setting based on a secure collaboration platform to facilitate tailored coaching sessions and offer on-demand training.

Nexussquared, a Zurich-based fintech platform, in collaboration with Startupbootcamp FinTech, launched its virtual blockchain startup programme Nexuslab in November, 2015.

The finalists have been chosen by a panel consisting of Nexussquared management and industry experts, including representatives from Startupbootcamp and its network partners. The panel’s aim was to compile a diverse group of startups featuring young entrepreneurs from different industries and countries.

The names announced include teams from across Europe and reflect a broad range of industries bound to be affected by blockchain technology innovations in the near future. These include music sharing & earning platform Bittunes; secured cloud storage service Doqum.io; mobile wallet that facilitates instant bitcoin payments First Wallet; blockchain-based online security provider Magic in Bits; bitcoin nano-transactions firm Paymeabit; provider of Ethereum-based platform ProofOfYou; provider of blockchain-based banking services Taqanu Bank; blockchain-based platform creating financial incentive for producers and supporters of solar energy SolarChange; mobile payment solution provider WONE; and provider of decentralised applications built on top of the bitcoin and Ethereum blockchain Yope.

“We’re very much looking forward to helping these promising startups further develop their ideas, refine their business models and drive technology innovation across a wide range of industries and applications”, said Daniel Grassinger, Managing Director of Nexuslab and co-founder of Nexussquared.

The Nexuslab pilot programme will begin on 24th April with a weekend hangout session in Amsterdam featuring a series of initial workshops based on Lean Startups and Business Model Canvas methodology as well as events to foster the community of participating startups.

The Nexuslab team will work with participants to prepare them for the final month of the programme, which will be hosted at SwissQ in Zurich. During the final stage, participants will be further trained so that they can present their products to an international group of investors, company representatives and the wider public at the Nexuslab Festival Day on 7 July 2016 in Zurich.
