Stockholm to host Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference in September

Event management company "Smile-Expo" is going to host the first blockchain conference in Stockholm on 07 September 2017, titled Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference Stockholm.

The conference is a part of Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference, a large network of crypto conferences in Europe organized by Smile-Expo that has held similar events in the Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Prague, Kiev, and Tallinn.

The September event will particularly focus on the implementation of blockchain technology in business, legal regulation of cryptocurrencies in various jurisdictions, increase of living standards using new technologies, and development of smart contracts in the decentralized economy. It will also focus on the blockchain development in FinTech.

According to the official website, conference speakers include Eric Benz, the Managing Director at the Bitcoin debit cards issuing company Cryptopay; Frank Schuil, CEO at Safello bitcoin exchanges; Christian Ander, BLKCHN CEO; Sofie Blakstad, CEO and founder at hiveonline; and Karolina Marzantowich, the leading developer of Polish branch of IBM.

Sweden has been making strides in the digital currency and blockchain space. Last year, the central bank announced its plans to develop a national digital currency. The government supported a blockchain-based experiment on transferring records on land ownership right in the digital format. Recently, a Swedish project on blockchain implementation in energy sector was launched in which Vattenfall, a department of government corporation, together with 20 European companies started the development of a blockchain platform for electricity trading.

During the conference, experts will share their experience of blockchain implementation in governmental institutions (Govtech), banking system, trading, media, healthcare and other areas.

In addition to the conference, there will be an exhibition of crypto hardware, software, and services for the industry, the official release said.
