Russian Perm Winter School to host blockchain and fintech event in February

Perm Winter School, a community that focuses in areas like quantitative finance, risk management, and fintech, announced that it will host a comprehensive program on blockchain and fintech this year.

Every winter, the Russian school’s program covers latest empirical researches, theoretical models, and industry best practices. Perm Winter School 2017 program will take place from February 3 - 4, 2017 at the school premises in the city of Perm in Russia.

The two-day program will focus on blockchain technology, reinventing capital markets, banking in fintech era, microstructure and scaling laws, among others. The program will see blockchain experts and leaders in fintech industry including Mikhail Nikulin from Lykke, Alexey Lobanov from Bank of Russia, Alexey Arkhipov from Qiwi, Olga Stepanova from Russian National Commercial Bank, among others.

The conference is designed for students, teachers, researchers, innovative industry practitioners, and entrepreneurs working in the field of fintech, blockchain, risk management and financial mathematics, Forklog reported. The event will have eight discussion sessions and the registrations are ongoing.

Last October, Perm established support fund blockchain initiatives that intend to support startups, creating blockchain projects and assisting in finding investors.
