Nike and RTFKT collaborated and released the Dunk Genesis sneaker NFT in April last year. Now, the companies have created the footwear model's physical version, which will be up for sale.
However, Nike and RTFKT will only sell the real-life Dunk Genesis sneakers to NFT holders. The shoes will be exclusive to those who purchased the initial digital token.
RTFK's the "Forging Event" for Dunk Genesis
All individuals who have the Dunk Genesis NFT will soon be able to have a physical version of their tokens. Nike and RTFKT said that holders can buy up to five pairs of sneakers.
As per Footwear News, they will be able to buy the sneakers in three colorways. All owners of the digital token can buy one Dunk Genesis OG and two pairs each of the Dunk Genesis Void and Dunk Genesis Clone X.
The sale of the Dunk Genesis shoes will only run for a limited time - from Oct. 18 to Oct. 30. NFT holders may buy them during the "Forging Event" organized by RTFKT, which Nike acquired in 2021 for an undisclosed amount, but at that time the custom sneakers developer was valued at $33 million.

Shipment, Price and Other Details of the Sale
Blockster Web Media reported that NFT holders of the Nike x RTFKT's Dunk Genesis must use their tokens to purchase the physical version of the sneakers, but this does not mean they will lose their NFTs after the purchase. The tokens will remain in the owner's wallet - untouched.
The sneakers will be shipped to buyers starting in June 2024. The RTFKT x Nike Dunk Genesis was priced at Ethereum equivalent of $222 plus "gas fees."
