McDonald's is set to introduce big changes to its menu this year, including the burger sandwiches. The fast-food giant will start revealing these noticeable changes in the coming days.
McDonald's said one of the biggest things that customers may expect this new year is the return of some favorite food items such as burger sandwich variants and wraps. As per Irish Star, as the year 2024 begins, the restaurant chain promises that its burgers will be "small but tasty."
Burger Sandwich Makeover
McDonald's said it is now working with its chefs to improve its famous Big Macs, Double Cheeseburgers, McDouble Burger, and Hamburger. Some of the changes have been implemented in some markets outside of the United States.
It was reported that customers in Canada, Belgium, and Australia have already tasted the improved burgers, and reviews have been great so far. It was mentioned that the four key changes in McDonald's burgers include toasted buns, the inclusion of melted cheese and carmelized white onions, the patties being made juicier, and the addition of more signature Big Mac sauce.
New Year Menu Comebacks and Items to Be Axed
As part of McDonald's menu shake-up for 2024, it will also bring back five menu favorites, and the restaurant said customers will be thrilled with these items. All the new food items are set to be released on Jan. 4. However, these will only be in stores located across the United Kingdom and Ireland.
According to The Sun, McDonald's is bringing back its beloved Cheesy Garlic Bites, Caramel McFlurry, and Cadbury Dairy Milk McFlurry. The restaurant said it also heard the customers' overwhelming request, so it will reintroduce the Steakhouse Stack burger, which has been pulled out from the menu list in March 2023. Moreover, the Fajita Chicken wrap that was first launched in January 2020 is set to be added to the menu again after a 3-year hiatus.
Meanwhile, to make way for these new food items, McDonald's is preparing to remove eight menus. Starting Jan., the restaurant will no longer serve Cheese Melt Dippers, Galaxy Caramel Pie, and two Mcflurry flavors. Next month, the Big and Cheesy or Chicken Big Mac will also be taken out from the menu list.
