Japanese e-commerce firm DMM has announced that it has established its own Virtual Currency Division.

According to the official announcement, the new division will commence operation of the virtual currency mining business “DMM Mining Farm” in October. DMM said:

““DMM Mining Farm” will operate a mass-scale, made-in-Japan quality, mining farm whose operating size will be unmatched by any of the domestic operators.”

The company is currently developing DMM Cloud Mining, which would enable anyone to easily join “DMM Mining Farm” at any time.

DMM said that in the future it plans an operation that ranks in the top three of the world’s mining farm companies in terms of scale.

It plans to release “DMM POOL” for world-wide use this year following the completion of successful trials in October. DMM said that it will be one of the 10 largest mining farms in the world in 2018.

Headquartered in Tokyo, DMM offers a number of online service including VOD, Live streaming, eBooks, PC game, On-line games, DVD rental, and DVD selling, among others. It has over 4 million customers in Japan.
