Hyperledger Fabric publishes first release candidate of v1.0.0

A collaborative cross-industry effort to advance blockchain technology, Hyperledger Project announced that Hyperledger Fabric has published first release candidate: v1.0.0-rc1.

“This isn't the end of the road, but we are certainly getting close… the code has been frozen since we released the v1.0.0-beta release excepting any defect fixes, new and enhanced tests and documentation enhancements. We encourage everyone to test and provide feedback to that we can deliver a robust and secure 1.0.0,” the release stated.

According to the company, there will be security scans and audits on this latest release and addressing any issues that need remediation. Hyperledger officially tagged the 1.0.0-rc1 release on Friday June 23.

Also, 150 engineers from 27 organizations contributed to the various fabric projects, where 57 engineers, writers and testers contributed to the post-beta cleanup effort that made Hyperledger achieve the 1.0.0-rc1 milestone.

“We would like to sincerely thank everyone that helped bring this release candidate to life. It was a huge effort that went into reducing the open defects over 1.0.0-beta and in running through a gauntlet of manual and automated testing,” it added.

The company said that with the release, Hyperledger Fabric Node and Java SDKsare also available for developing applications.
