Enterprise Ethereum Alliance announces technical steering committee
Enterprise Ethereum Alliance, an enterprise collaboration focused on Ethereum blockchain technology formed earlier this year, has announced a new technical steering committee, CoinDesk reported.
The setting up of the committee is part of the alliance’s strategy to lay down some of its governance foundations. The committee will focus on advancing the EntEth 1.0 reference software.
In addition, the EEA also announced seven new working groups, which will focus on the development of blockchain use-cases on the Ethereum platform in specific areas. In particular, these working groups will focus on seven specific areas – token issuances, banking, healthcare, insurance, advertising, legal, and supply chain finance.
The committee will oversee and guide these working groups. According to ETH News, the respective chairs of the Technical Steering Committee and Working Groups, are:
"The EEA has made the largest commitment to member-driven working groups in the industry focusing on innovative blockchain technologies and applications to solve real-world problems," Jeremy Millar, a founding board member of the group, said. "Many of the blockchain industry's best and brightest have agreed to contribute their leadership and energy as a chair for an EEA work group. We thank them and all the working group members for their support and efforts."
The EEA in May announced the addition of 86 new companies to its membership. This included Deloitte, Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), Samsung SDS, National Bank of Canada, and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, among others.
