Chamber of Digital Commerce to host DC Blockchain Summit 2017 in March

The Chamber of Digital Commerce, the leading trade association representing the blockchain industry, has announced ‘DC Blockchain Summit’ that will take place at Georgetown University, Washington DC, on 15 and 16 March 2017.

Along with the University’s Center for Financial Markets and Policy, the Chamber is organizing this second annual gathering that will feature the brightest and the best in blockchain industry and government across the globe.

The program agenda will include discussion and panel from top notch experts in the blockchain and digital currency industry, company board leaders, government leaders. The event intends to drive digital assets, the blockchain, and distributed ledger technologies forward.

The event will see keynote from eminent speakers Ashish Chauhan from Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and Blythe Masters from Digital Asset. Other potential speakers include Rep. David Schweikert, co-chair of Blockchain Caucus; Brian Behlendorf from Hyperledger Project; Perianne Boring from Chamber of Digital Commerce; Robert Palatnick from DTCC; Matthew Roszak from Bloq; among others.

Along with the DC Blockchain Summit, the Chamber is hosting a ‘Code-A-Thon’ in collaboration with the Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS), Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC). This Code-A-Thon will challenge contestants to build and create blockchain technology-based applications and solutions for the healthcare industry. The participants will be given a 24-hour period to come up with potential blockchain solutions.

The applications are open for Code-A-Thon contest and are limited to the first 100 contestants and 50 observers who sign up by March 7. The winners of the contest will be announced and awarded on day one of the DC Blockchain Summit 2017.
