Blockchain meets Internet of Things at IoT Solutions World Congress

The third edition of the Internet of Things Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC), to take place on 3-5 October at Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via venue, will bring together leading companies and experts to discuss this innovative technology.

Part of the Barcelona Industry Week (BIW), the event will witness over 220 companies and 250 international experts discussing and showcasing the latest products and applications of IoT that will change the business models in many industries. The Congress program will feature 8 tracks:

  • Connected Transport
  • Healthcare
  • Buildings & Infrastructure
  • Open Industry
  • Blockchain
  • Quantum Computing

The Blockchain Solutions Forum will form an integrated part of the IOT Solutions World Congress. The Expo will showcase the latest developments around blockchain, providing exhibitors a global reach. Experts will present success stories of how blockchain will impact public and private sectors. The sessions will include a variety of formats: keynotes, panel sessions, interviews and round-tables. Themes include digital identities, human capital, public good, finance, IoT, interoperability, and much more.

It will also focus on some of the key challenges companies are facing in an ever-growing digitalized world and help them seize the full potential and benefits IoT solutions are bringing. IOTSWC will also have a testbeds area for live demonstrations where companies and institutions will show the operation of 10 industrial internet applications developed by leading companies.

Tech titans including Accenture Digital, Dell Technologies, Deloitte, Honeywell, Intel, IoT Works-HCL Technologies, Microsoft, Red Hat, Schneider Electric, Thales, Wipro, and others will be showcasing at IoTSWC 2017.

Speakers include John Ellis, former Global Technologist and Head of the Ford Developer Program; Mikko Hypponen, Cybersecurity expert and Chief Research Officer at F-Secure Corporation; MiT Media Lab's Joe Paradiso, Professor of Media Arts and Sciences; and Joe Spagnoletti, Technology expert and former SVP and Chief Information Officer of the Campbell Soup Company.
