Bitfilm, a film production company for the digital age, has recently announced in its blog post that it starts crowdfunding for the world's first feature-length fiction film 'Satoshi's Last Will', set in world ruled by Bitcoin and blockchain technology on 25th August.
"There are several good documentaries about Bitcoin", says the film's producer Aaron Koenig from Bitfilm. "But not many people watch documentaries. In order to have a significant impact on mainstream culture, one has to tell a compelling story that fascinates people."
The crowdfunding campaign will be supported by Max Keiser's new platform StartJOIN.com, which accepts several digital currencies as well as fiat money via PayPal. The project will be featured in the new episode of Max Keiser's show Crowdfactor. While interviewing Aaron Koenig, he applied to play the role of an "evil banker" in the film.
"Max Keiser is perfect to play a villain", says Aaron Koenig. "We are still working on the script, so I am sure we will find a good role for him".
The first round of crowdfunding of 80,000 US Dollars will be used for finishing the script, for casting and for production design. The total estimated budget of the film is 2 million dollars, the blog post said.
