The registration for the 2017 Global Insurance Symposium, to be held on April 25-27 in downtown Des Moines, Iowa, is now open.
Presented by the Iowa Insurance Institute, the Federation of Iowa Insurers, the Iowa Economic Development Authority, the Greater Des Moines Partnership, the Global Insurance Accelerator, Insurance Thought Leadership and the Iowa Insurance Division, the symposium this year will focus on artificial intelligence and blockchain technology, among other things. The attendees will learn about cutting edge technologies impacting the industry, network with regulators and leaders in the field, and gain valuable continuing education credits.
"The addition of the new panel discussions on artificial intelligence, driverless cars, and blockchain reflect the innovative nature of the insurance industry," said Kay Fairchild Godfredsen, Esq., Assistant General Counsel at Nationwide, and co-chair of the 2017 Global Insurance Symposium. "Iowa is home to more than 200 insurance companies and a true international insurance hub. We are proud to host this forward-thinking symposium in Des Moines."
According to the official release, the symposium will feature a powerhouse agenda of renowned keynote and panel speakers, as well as interactive demonstration and networking sessions for all attendees. Speakers include state insurance commissioners, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and regulatory representatives from various states, national offices, and international organizations.
Featured speakers and sessions, so far, include Michael Morrissey, president and CEO of International Insurance Society; Matteo Carbone, principal of Bain & Company; Robert Kerzner, CEO and president of LIMRA, LOMA, LL Global Inc.; Alessa Quane, EVP and chief risk officer of AIG Connection; Driverless Car Outlook and Live Demonstration; Artificial Intelligence in the Workforce; Commissioners' Roundtable; Startup Stories: TED Talks; Blockchain: Beyond BitCoin; and Insurtech and the Global Insurance Accelerator.
