Visiting Researcher and Lecturer in Electrical Engineering, Princeton University
My research is in developing systems and methods to improve the quality of human learning. It lies at the intersection of electrical engineering, computer science, and education. My PhD thesis received the Bede Liu Best Dissertation Award in Electrical Engineering, and made contributions to three main areas: Learning Data Analytics (LDA), Social Learning Networks (SLN), and Integrated and Individualized Courses (IIC).
I co-authored the book The Power of Networks: Six Principles That Connect Our Lives, and co-instruct a Massive Open Online Course Networks Illustrated: Principles without Calculus based on my book. I am also an assistant instructor for the MOOC Networks: Friends, Money, and Bytes. I have reached over 250,000 students through these courses since 2012.
