I received my Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin – Madison’s Department of Sociology in August 2019. Currently, I am a postdoctoral research associate at Stanford’s Graduate School of Education. I seek to understand how institutional practices create unequal life chances by shaping individuals’ beliefs and actions. I do so by focusing on processes of socialization and engagement using a range of correlational and (quasi-)experimental approaches focused on public education and the reduction of inequalities.
