The official trailer for Season Three of “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” has just been released, and it appears that our optimistic heroine is ready for another life change: college.
In the latest trailer, Kimmy (Ellie Kemper) is seen making plans to go to college after receiving from sage advice from her eccentric landlord, Lillian (Carol Kane), who told her, After high school, most white girls go to college."
However, Kimmy’s progress from getting unknowingly hold up as one of a cult leader’s wives will be facing a roadblock from no other than the man himself: Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne (played by “Mad Men” star Jon Hamm). Kimmy is seen in the trailer facing off her former captor and husband, who is calling from prison to give her a heads up about the unsigned divorce papers he sent over, Rolling Stone said.
"I haven't had a chance to sign that thing – because nobody in New York uses pens anymore," Wayne said, to which Kimmy defiantly said, "Everyone just vapes each other now."
In the Season 2 finale, Kimmy got the shock of her life when during a celebration with family and friends, she learned straight from Wayne that she is married to her former captor, Salon said in a recap.
Meanwhile, this season will have Titus (Titus Burgess) fresh from his cruise gig circling on a prospective acting job, but will encounter relationship problems. Meanwhile, Lillian will undergo a heartbreak on her own, no thanks to her impending split with boyfriend Robert Durst (Fred Armisen).
“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” will debut on Netflix with 13 episodes starting May 19.
