After not hearing anything about “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 in more than five years, fans may have already given up hope. But everything changed when the anime’s renewal was announced last fall, and its second season is now one of the most anticipated shows this year.
‘The Irregular at Magic High School’ season 2 release date
Another great news about “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 is that fans do not have to wait until late 2020 to see the show premiere. The second season goes back on the air sometime in July.
However, fans will have to be a little more patient for the exact release date of “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2. Given that it is still several months away, its announcement, along with the next promo video is unlikely arriving until July is much closer.
What fans have to go on for now is the video announcement of the production of “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2. Avid viewers of season 1 may have noticed one new face joining Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba. Those who have seen the franchise’s anime film in 2017 may recognize her as Angelina Kudou Shields.
Popular anime studio Madhouse produced season 1, but they will not be coming back for “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2. On the bright side, the upcoming episodes are being worked on by Eight Bit, the studio behind the 2017 movie.
‘The Irregular at Magic High School’ season 2 plot, characters
“The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 appears only to cover Visitor Arc, and that is a much shorter source material compared to the 26-episode season 1. The said arc only covered three volumes of the light novel series, so fans should expect season 2 to have just half of the season 1 episode count.
As mentioned, a character named Angelina will be added to “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2. Her story in the movie is very different from the canon plot that will be adapted in season 2. Angelina will enter First High as an exchanged student, but her arrival means something deeper and poses a grave threat for Tatsuya.
