“Narcos” Season 4 is just around the corner as the fourth installment is slated for release on Nov. 16. And with this new season comes new faces taking on the roles of protagonists and antagonists.
The previous installment saw the end of the Cali cartel in the hands of agent Javier Pena (Pedro Pascal) and other law enforcers. As such, “Narcos” Season 4 has moved to Mexico to tell the story of the Guadalajara Cartel and its rise to power, which was spearheaded by the ruthless Felix Gallardo (Diego Luna), TV Guide reported.
Gallardo played a huge part in the Mexican drug war that has bled into the borders of the United States, a problem that has persisted to this today. “Narcos” Season 4 will highlight how Gallardo founded his chilling drug organization and the lengths he went to in order to become one of the most notorious drug lords in the world.
As for the protagonists, Kiki Camarena (Michael Pena) will helm the investigation of Gallardo’s activities, which he will realize to be far more dangerous than he presumed. It can be recalled that Camarena was first mentioned in “Narcos” Season 1, when Agent Murphy (Boyd Holbrook) briefly told the horrific story of the DEA agent. Given that this account has been mentioned in the past, Camarena’s fate is already sealed in “Narcos” Season 4 and the character will experience intense agony before he dies.
What’s interesting, however, is how the writers will build the tension in “Narcos” Season 4, which will ultimately lead to the torture and death of the DEA agent. There’s also the hanging question of who will take the lead role once Camarena is dead.
Is Camarena going to die at the end of “Narcos” Season 4, or will his demise occur mid-way through the installment? Right now, everything points to the former since Camarena’s gruesome death triggered a set of bloody events when the United States government retaliated against the cartel who killed their agent.
Going by Agent Murphy’s account, the U.S. is said to have retaliated so hard that every drug dealer in the world didn’t dare lay a finger on a DEA agent again. So while “Narcos” Season 4 already has a gripping storyline, it will merely set the stage for an even bigger conflict between the U.S. and the Mexican cartel, which has a solid foothold in the country.
