‘Mr. Robot’ season 2’s episode 8 is set to feature Darlene as she faces difficult decisions and finally give in to an unfulfilled desire as the Fsociety breaks down. Meanwhile, the critically-acclaimed television series has officially been renewed for season 3.
The short synopsis posted on Hidden Remote stated, “A video is released by fsociety; Darlene decides to act on an old desire.” Although no further details have been provided, it seems like Carly Chaikin’s Darlene is set to feature heavily in the incoming episode, entitled "eps2.6_succ3ss0r.p12", as teased by the promo.
According to Earn the Necklace, the preceding episode found Angela (Portia Doubleday) subconsciously figuring out that Elliot (Rami Malek) and Darlene are members of Fsociety. Meanwhile, the ending revealed that Elliot was in jail the entire time. Episode 8 may seek to answer the question of Elliot’s shocking imprisonment.
The drama-thriller television series follows Elliot, a cyber-security engineer and hacker who is recruited by an anarchist and hacker-activist group called fsociety by an enigmatic character only referred to as Mr. Robot, portrayed by Christian Slater. Elliot suffers from social anxiety disorder and hallucinations and is diagnosed with clinical depression.
The series’ first season premiered on the USA Network on June 2015 and went on to receive critical acclaim since its release. It won a Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama and also earned Slater a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor. It was then renewed for a second season run on the network on July 2016.
According to Deadline, ‘Mr. Robot’ was recently greenlit for a third season on the network. It is scheduled to air sometime in 2017.
President of Entertainment Networks for NBC Universal Cable Entertainment Chris McCumber exclaimed, “We couldn’t be more proud of Mr. Robot, a series that has pushed boundaries, captured the cultural zeitgeist, and been honored as one of the best dramas on television… Midway through its second season, Mr. Robot continues to break new ground and open up new opportunities for the network.”
