BitShares Munich launches zero cost POS system ‘BlockPay S’

(This article has been edited according to the updated official press release).

BitShares Munich, an independent software development company, has launched ‘BlockPay S’, a free to use point-of-sale (POS) system that enables any merchant to accept one or more digital currencies at zero cost.

The application is available on Google Play Store and is compatible with Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher version.

“After months of hard work, we are more than happy to launch BlockPay ‘S’. It is our goal to build an easy plug-and-play point-of-sale platform that supports all of the top digital currencies. The application can be used by any business at zero cost,” Christoph Hering, co-founder and CEO of BitShares Munich said.

Hering also added that BlockPay is planning to streamline blockchain-based currencies for various industries and will support Dash and Steem from the beginning. The POS platform leverages blockchain 2.0 technologies and debuts a platform that supports all digital currencies and fiat currencies in one application.

"We are so excited to finally launch BlockPay “S”. We are expanding extremely fast with our Ambassadors Program, and have already started promoting BlockPay “S” in more than 30 different countries,” Rodrigo Crespo, co-founder and CMO at BitShares Munich, said.

The release explains the features of the BlockPay POS system that includes a built-in and automated Loyalty Points feature, eReceipt capability as well as overdraft protection. The POS can run with Standalone or can be integrated with existing systems through an application programming interface. This interface integrates with BlockPay vending machines, kiosks and into Odoo, SAP, Shopkeep and other POS platforms.

Last month, the company announced the pre-ICO to crowdfund of its project in cooperation with the decentralized exchange platform OpenLedger that ended on September 5. BitShares Munich raised 1,095 bitcoin (BTC), roughly US $657,000 at the time of the sale’s end. In the crowdsale, 6.5 million (out of the total 100 million) BlockPay tokens were distributed to at least 550 holders.
