It is possible that George Clooney and his wife, Amal, are in a difficult situation because the Democrat has indicated his support for President Joe Biden's bid for reelection.
This is because the beauty, who was born in Beirut, views the move as an endorsement of the administration's support for Israel's military campaign against Palestine, according to sources.
According to RadarOnline, the 46-year-old human rights attorney had called for George, who is 63 years old, to put some distance between himself and Biden.
Amal's anger was reportedly spurred by the incumbent president of the United States' refusal to accept the International Criminal Court's proclaimed intention to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant, the nation's defense minister, and charge them with war crimes.
“The ICC prosecutor’s application for arrest warrants against Israeli leaders is outrageous. And let me be clear. Whatever this prosecutor might imply, there is no equivalence — none — between Israel and Hamas. We will always stand with Israel against threats to its security,” President Joe Biden said at the time.
On the other hand, Amal was not shy in expressing her opinion, as she stated shortly after the arrest warrants were issued in May, "I support the historic step that the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has taken to bring justice to victims of atrocities in Israel and Palestine."
Reportedly, George called the White House just a few days later when the House of Representatives, which is governed by Republicans, threatened to sanction the International Criminal Court (ICC) if it prosecuted Netanyahu.
The Israeli government responded to the violent invasion that took place on October 7, 2023, by initiating its ongoing war against Hamas militants in Gaza.
As a consequence of the fighting, the region has been reduced to rubble, and it is estimated that 37,000 people have lost their lives.
In the meantime, George was the star of a star-studded celebrity fundraiser for Vice President Joe Biden on June 15, which brought in thirty million dollars for the politician's campaign coffers.
An outstanding list of high-profile celebrities and political heavyweights attended the event in downtown Los Angeles. It was billed as the largest fundraiser for the Democratic Party to date.
The guest list included several A-level celebrities, including former President Barack Obama, Julia Roberts, who is considered to be a Hollywood star, and Jimmy Kimmel, who is a talk show presenter.
It has been stated that Amal declined to attend the gathering because Biden questioned her choice to seek Netanyahu's arrest. As a result, her husband was the only one who attended the event.
"It all blew up with Amal refusing to attend the fundraiser, leaving George to make an embarrassing appearance without her!" an insider shared.
According to a recent article from the Daily Mail, George was concerned that Amal would be subject to sanctions imposed by the United States on the International Criminal Court. Informants have made similar assertions, stating that the screen stud's devotion to the commander-in-chief has caused his marriage to become strained.
"Amal put her foot down and raged Biden's support for Israel was enabling what amounts to genocide in Gaza. But George replied he'd made a commitment to Biden he wasn't about to abandon given the stakes of the election,” a tipster suggested.
Pundits believe that the warrants issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) and Biden's endorsement of Israel's conduct have placed the President of the United States in a difficult position.
