Tokyo Building That Housed Iconic Starbucks Branch to Reopen With Exciting Changes

One question that remains unanswered is whether the world-famous Starbucks branch will reopen in the building.

A famous Tokyo building near the bustling Shibuya Scramble Crossing that housed an iconic Starbucks store is set to reopen after an indefinite closure. The closure was due to its association with the Tsutaya store, which occupied multiple floors of the Q Front building.

Soranews 24 reported that as the demand for physical media declined, the store underwent a thorough redesign, leading to Starbucks' temporary closure. However, Tsutaya has now announced the highly anticipated reopening date, which is scheduled for April 25th.

A Stylish Rebirth

As per PR Times, to mark the rebirth of Shibuya Tsutaya, the building will feature a brand-new, sleek design. Tsutaya has introduced a jet-black stylized version of its iconic "T" logo. This modern and stylish update is set to captivate visitors and create a fresh atmosphere in the heart of Shibuya.

The building's reopening brings exciting changes to its interior layout. Previously located on floors three to five, the CD and DVD rental services have been discontinued and moved to Tsutaya Discas, the brand's mail-delivery rental site. This shift has freed up several floors, creating more cafes and event spaces unique to this particular branch of Tsutaya.

The ground floor and the first and second basement floors are dedicated to celebrating intellectual property from around the world. These spaces aim to foster a love for various forms of art and entertainment. The second to fourth floors, known as the "Inspiring Café & Lounge," offer a serene environment for individuals to unwind and enjoy their time, providing seating for up to 500 people.

On floors five to seven, visitors can indulge in exclusive experiences not found elsewhere, with a lounge, bookstore, and café. Additionally, the eighth floor features a studio that connects with events on other floors, and the rooftop serves as an outdoor event space.

Awaited Details

One question remains whether the world-famous Starbucks branch will reopen in its original location, overlooking the Shibuya Scramble Crossing, or if a new cafe or lounge will occur. Tsutaya has promised to reveal more information leading up to the April opening, leaving visitors in anticipation.

As the reopening date draws near, Tokyo residents and visitors eagerly await the opportunity to enjoy their favorite Starbucks beverages again while taking in the vibrant energy of the Shibuya Scramble Crossing.

The renovated building offers a unique and unforgettable experience, combining Starbucks's charm with Tsutaya's artistic ambiance. As the opening date approaches, the world eagerly awaits the unveiling of what's in store for this beloved landmark.
