VIMANA Global sets up EEA Blockchain Airspace User Working Group

VIMANA Global, a US-based company developing Autonomous Aerial Vehicles for Urban Air Mobility, has established the EEA Blockchain Airspace User Working Group (WG) within The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA).

According to the official release, the VIMANA-led working group will focus on solving issues relating to the use of EEA blockchain specifications to support a wide range of urban mobility efforts including self-navigation traffic control and payments for various services.

“Working with EEA is a natural fit for VIMANA,” said Evgeny Borisov, the CEO of VIMANA Global. “The EEA is focused on openness and interoperability. From the start, we have adopted an open approach, providing APIs, so that we can easily work with partners and anyone else who wants to share the benefits of our Blockchain Airspace User Working Group.”

VIMANA is working to develop a ‘Blockchain Airspace’. Using its patent-pending invention, it will combine the capabilities of an airplane, helicopter and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) on a single platform. VIMANA is using blockchain technology to operate its aircraft and enable blockchain applications in the air at the same time.

“When it comes to the Airspace market, operations, security, and multiplatform interoperability are the key areas where EEA members see real advantages to using Enterprise Ethereum Alliance standards to build global solutions,” said EEA Executive Director Ron Resnick. “We are thrilled to have VIMANA lead the new user working group where members can innovate, define and test new use cases that lead to the development of EEA published specs that accelerate international advancements in this rapidly growing space.”
