‘Timeless’ season 1’s episode 12, titled “The Murder of Jesse James,” is set to follow the team as they travel back in time to the Wild West as they continue to pursue the antagonistic Flynn, who allies himself to the infamous Jesse James.
The synopsis for “The Murder of Jesse James” posted on TV Guide reads, “Flynn (Goran Visnjic) joins forces with legendary outlaw Jesse James (Daniel Lissing), and the two create bloody havoc across the American frontier. Cut to Lucy (Abigail Spencer), Wyatt (Matt Lanter) and Rufus (Malcolm Barrett), who team up with a notable marshal to bring justice to the fugitives.”
In the upcoming episode, Lucy, Wyatt, and Rufus continue to pursue Flynn through history and end up in the Wild West where they enlist the help of an iconic marshal in their cause. Meanwhile, Flynn will join the notorious American gang leader Jesse James.
The promo for episode 12 featured the time-traveling trio in hot pursuit of the antagonistic Flynn. It showed Flynn meeting up with Jesse and making him an offer of alliance. The promo also revealed that the legendary marshal is an African-American Lone Ranger.
Lone Ranger is portrayed by Colman Domingo, notable for his work as Victor Strand in ‘Fear the Walking Dead.’ At first, the marshal seemed hesitant to bring Lucy in to the danger but she retorted, “You don’t really have a choice in the matter.” Meanwhile, Rufus seemed thoroughly impressed after realizing the Lone Ranger’s racial identity.
According to Yahoo! News, Lucy, Wyatt, and Rufus are also set to make an interesting discovery about the truth behind Flynn’s mission. Flynn managed to kidnap Lucy and brought her to the year 1893 but was thankfully rescued by Wyatt and Rufus.
‘Timeless’ season 1’s episode 12, titled “The Murder of Jesse James,” is scheduled to air on January 23, 2017 on NBC. It will be followed by episode 13, titled "Karma Chameleon,” scheduled for January 30.
