Singapore to host global blockchain and cryptocurrency conference in March next year

UBM Exhibition Singapore Pte Ltd and The Singapore Fintech Consortium Pte Ltd are organizing BLOCKCON 2017, the first global blockchain conference in Singapore which will be held on 28 & 29 March 2017 and feature blockchain and cryptocurrency related innovation.

According to the official release, the conference will be held at Marina Bay Sands Singapore and will feature inspiring talks, new demos and interactive networking and will see expects from more than 1,000 global innovators and professionals of diverse backgrounds from the blockchain community – including regulators, entrepreneurs, investors and financial industry executives.

“Blockchain has the potential to redefine numerous value chains, exchange platforms and business processes. We observe fascinating ‘proof of concepts’ being tested and user cases being developed not only within the financial service industry, but across other major industries and public sectors,” Gerben Visser, Co-Founder of The Singapore FinTech Consortium Pte Ltd said.

Talking about the topics and focus of the conference, he added, “Some of the key themes, topics and applications that are being explored are related to identity, authentication, fraud, record keeping, “smart” self-executing contracts and various forms of transfer of digital assets, value and data.”


Attendees of the conference will find engagement on topics such as collaboration, competition, culture and regulation on the distributed ledger. There will also be live panel discussions that will dig deeper into what it takes for blockchain solutions to be successful and how this promising and exciting technology can be applied for data integrity, trust and accessibility.

“We believe BLOCKCON 2017 will provide a unique knowledge exchange platform, facilitate partnership opportunities across the Blockchain ecosystem, as well as educate financial participants and stakeholders on the potential applications,” Paul Wan, Managing Director of UBM Exhibition Singapore Pte Ltd said.

BLOCKCON 2017 is expected to witness 60 speakers and over 70 sponsors. The conference has opened its registration and has called for paper submissions.
