‘Ozark’ season 4: Possible release date, series renewal and other details to know about the anticipated installment

“Ozark” season 4 is anticipated after the exciting but intriguing ending of the third season that was dropped by Netflix on March 27. As usual, fans binge-watched the crime drama since all of its 10 episodes have been released at the same time.

Three seasons after, with Marty Byrde’s wife, Wendy, already involved in the money laundering business in the third installment, the viewers could only wish for “Ozark” season 4 to see how the couple and their family will deal with their growing business while the FBI is watching them now. The whole Byrde family is involved and there is no turning back and this is why the fans want the next installment to arrive soon.

The renewal: Has Netflix renewed the show yet?

However, the streaming giant still has to renew “Ozark” season 4 so it can begin its production. There are reports that the series actually received an advanced renewal notice but then Netflix has yet to make an official announcement to be certain.

“We’re all operating under the hope it will happen. It’s Netflix’s norm to wait for a show to premiere and collect the data for weeks two, three, and four and see if there’s an audience there to justify an additional season,” Jason Bateman, lead star and executive producer of the drama told Collider. “So, I guess we’re in that period right now. But, I know Chris Mundy (showrunner) and his team are hard at work figuring out what that fourth season would be if that official pick-up lands.”

With that statement, fans now know that Mundy is working on the “Ozark” season 4’s story. It is clear that while they are waiting for the green light from Netflix, they are already brainstorming on how they will continue the plot.

Release date

“Ozark” season 4 doesn’t have a premiere date yet since filming has yet to begin. But then, the estimated date of release could be in 2022. This is because, with the current coronavirus pandemic around the world, production will have to be rescheduled at a later time.

Plus, Jason Bateman previously revealed that it usually takes them more than a year to film and complete one whole season. Thus, if filming will begin later this year, then “Ozark” season 4 could arrive in 2022.
