Many people have been having a hard time believing that Melania Trump and Donald Trump are in a happy marriage, especially the critics of his administration. Their relationship was much more scrutinized after they occupied the White House. Some claims even go as far as saying that America’s first couple could have been divorced if not for the real estate mogul’s 2016 election win.

Melania Trump, Donald Trump divorce rumors: Is the presidency the only thing keeping their marriage?

To be clear, none of the reports about how bad the Trumps’ marriage has become were ever proven. The couple has gone on record several times to convince the public that they are happy together. But that does not stop the doubts and even the rumors attempting to provide the reasons why the couple is allegedly headed for a divorce.

One of the most explosive claims came through writer Monica Byrne. In a series of now-deleted tweets, Byrne insisted on having a source who said Mrs. Trump was in a long-running affair with a security chief in one of the establishments at the Trump Tower in New York.

The same insider further claimed that the President is aware of the affair, and the couple has allegedly agreed on only staying married after his Presidential campaign and the 2016 election. However, the supposed divorce proceedings were reportedly postponed after Trump won as the 45th President of the United States.

Melania Trump’s delayed White House move linked to troubled marriage?

Byrne’s tweets were posted in early June 2017, and the First Lady did not fully move to the White House until later that month. The writer added in her online post that the rumored affair and postponed divorce are some reasons why Mrs. Trump was not leaving New York to be in DC.

At the time, the public and the media have had several speculations about why Mrs. Trump took a longer time than expected to start living in their official residence. Of course, many rumors suggested that the delay could be linked to the real score of their marriage. But it was also reported that Mrs. Trump only held off her and Barron Trump’s White House move-in to wait for the latter’s school term to end.
