‘Lost in Space’ Season 2 Air Date, Plot, Latest News: Should Fans Expect a Late 2019 Premiere?

From the official trailer of

In a few weeks, it is going to be the anniversary of “Lost in Space’s” debut on Netflix. Many fans are now expecting for season 2 to premiere around this time. However, some clues might be hinting at a much later release date.

On a positive note, the filming of “Lost in Space” season 2 has concluded for over a month now. This means producers are now working on post-production, but the show uses a heavy amount of video effects that this process might also take a few months to be completed. Therefore, a release date around the show’s Netflix’s anniversary seems unlikely at this point.

It can be recalled that the first season’s filming was scheduled until late June 2017, but the show was not released until April 2018. That translates to roughly nine months of waiting for the premiere and there is a chance for the same time frame to be applied to “Lost in Space” season 2. In this case, the series could be returning in November or December.

These details are mere speculations at this point. However, they are also based on the show’s history of production so they still offer possibilities regarding the release date of “Lost in Space” season 2.

Maxwell Jenkins, who plays Will Robinson, confirmed in early February that they have completed the production of “Lost in Space” season 2. The Robinson family is still lost in space but they will be exploring a new planet in the upcoming episodes.

The “Lost in Space” season 2 plot required the cast and crew to film in two major destinations. Jenkins’ Instagram posts also showed they were in Iceland and Alberta in September 2018 that could be where they filmed scenes on the new planet. The second part of the productions was shot in Vancouver.

Jenkin’s Will Robinson is expected to be at the center of the “Lost in Space” season 2 plot, especially since he is the only who is somewhat familiar to the new planet. There are also clues that to survive this new environment, they might be needing Will’s best friend Robot (Brian Steele) around.
